About me
I am passionate about helping my clients reach their optimal level of practice in Pilates. My classes are tailored for the beginner, intermediate and advanced student. Modifications are always provided.
Please discuss any injuries or concerns with me before class. My other profession as an occupational therapist helps me to guide students through an anatomically safe and effective workout.
Occupational therapy is the study of how people actually move through their days, how a joint tolerates load, where compensation creeps in, what a body does when a movement is slightly beyond it. I bring that lens to a Pilates mat. It is why I ask about your injuries before class rather than after, and why the modification I offer you tends to be specific rather than generic.
Props
Props are utilized in every class. They include: hand weights, resistive bands and loops, mini stability balls, yoga blocks, Pilates rings. Props are an important aspect of these mat Pilates classes. I use these props to bring the work of the Pilates apparatus right to you on your own mat! Please bring your own mat.
